Anthropic targets November IPO raising up to $100B amid tech rout and data center backlash

Anthropic plans to raise $80 billion to $100 billion in a November initial public offering valued at up to $1.75 trillion, pushing ahead despite tech market declines and political pushback over data centers.

Artificial intelligence developer Anthropic is moving ahead with plans for a November initial public offering aiming to raise between $80 billion and $100 billion, according to reports from the Financial Times. The company is seeking a valuation between $1.25 trillion and $1.75 trillion, targeting roughly $1.5 trillion. That pricing comes as a market rout across tech stocks forces the Claude maker to accept a valuation below the $2 trillion figure sought earlier by its most bullish backers.[2][3][4][5][7][11][12]

Anthropic is preparing to launch its IPO roadshow next week, targeting a public market debut during the week of November 16 ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, The Information reported. On prediction platform Kalshi, traders priced the likelihood of Anthropic officially announcing an IPO before December 1, 2026, at 85%, with nearly $5 million in total market trading volume.[6][8][9][14][15]

The public listing effort also faces broader political friction. CNBC reported that Anthropic's planned IPO is running into artificial intelligence backlash after recent midterm election results delivered what the outlet described as a stinging rebuke of data centers.[1][13]

Anthropic is reportedly targeting a November IPO that could raise ~$100B at a $1.5T valuation. What's more interesting is that the company apparently wants this to be its last equity raise which could make debt markets a much bigger source of funding for next phase of the AI buildout. Also encouraging to see that prediction markets recently put odds of a November IPO as high as 85%.
