Amazon plans to spend more than €16 billion, or approximately $17.9 billion to $18 billion, across Germany in 2027, according to reporting by Bloomberg and industry updates. The massive capital deployment targets multiple arms of the company, focusing heavily on technology infrastructure, regional operations, and research.[2][4][5][1]

A major portion of the spending is earmarked for cloud computing and artificial intelligence, including approximately $5 billion dedicated to expanding Amazon Web Services infrastructure in Frankfurt. The commitment also funds a second AI and robotics research lab in Berlin, alongside new fulfillment centers across the country.[1][2][5][6]

In addition to enterprise infrastructure, the investment will support Amazon Leo satellite connectivity operations and localized media production for Prime Video. Crypto Briefing reported that the capital influx could significantly boost local employment, infrastructure, and German AI capabilities. The move also aligns with broader tech expansion in the region, coming alongside an Nvidia physical AI partnership aimed at meeting growing industrial AI demand in Germany.[2][3][4][5][1]
