Tata Consultancy Services stated that the U.S. government's suspension of the Permanent Labor Certification Program will not disrupt its workforce strategy or client engagements. According to Mint, the U.S. government suspended TCS and other major IT firms from the employment-based green card process amid investigations into alleged misuse of the system. The Economic Times reported that the freeze penalizes TCS alongside Infosys, Wipro, HCLTech, Cognizant, and four other major technology companies.[1][9][10][11]

In a statement cited by Mint, TCS noted that its PERM applications over the past two years remained in the single digits. The company affirmed it will comply with Department of Labor directives and plans to hire an additional 15,000 workers in the United States over the next five years, building upon an existing local workforce across 31 offices and delivery centers. The Economic Times reported that Microsoft also responded to the PERM suspension by reaffirming its commitment to the American workforce.[3][6][9][11]

The restrictions also spurred broader industry reactions. Following the freeze across eight tech firms, Sridhar Vembu urged Indians in America to return home, telling workers that the 'US no longer wants us,' according to reports by the Economic Times and Business Today.[5][7][8]
