XRP funds buck crypto ETF slump as bitcoin and ether lead $312 million daily outflow
U.S. spot XRP ETFs were the sole crypto fund category to post net inflows on Oct. 8, 2026, drawing over $8 million while bitcoin and ether funds logged heavy outflows during a broader market drawdown.

U.S. spot crypto exchange-traded funds posted an aggregate net outflow of $311.9 million on Oct. 8, 2026, according to CoinGlass data. XRP funds stood out as the only crypto ETF category to finish the session in positive territory, securing about $8.17 million in net inflows. CoinDesk reported that all of the day's XRP inflows entered Franklin Templeton's XRPZ, although an ETF tracking table shared by CryptoSavingExpert listed XRPZ's net inflow at $5.75 million for the session.[1][4][5][7][8][9][10]
The gains for XRP came against sharp retrenchment in major cryptocurrency funds. Spot bitcoin ETFs shed $244.13 million across 12 funds, according to SoSoValue data, marking a second consecutive day of losses after more than $485 million exited on Wednesday. CoinGlass data showed bitcoin funds surrendered roughly 2,860 BTC on Thursday, bringing two-day outflows to about 8,530 BTC. Fidelity's FBTC led bitcoin fund redemptions with an outflow of 2,370 BTC, while Franklin Templeton's EZBC was the only bitcoin ETF to register positive flows, pulling in 56.43 BTC.[1][2][3][6][9][11][12][13]
Spot ether ETFs also continued their retreat, losing $72.54 million to stretch their outflow streak to eight consecutive trading days. Redemptions extended to other products as well, with Solana ETFs shedding $3.32 million and Zcash ETFs losing $18.66 million. The institutional outflows coincided with sharp volatility in crypto derivatives markets, where approximately $1.19 billion in leveraged positions were liquidated as bitcoin traded back near $82,000.[1][2][3][9][10][11][12]

Franklin Templeton’s XRP ETF just saw $8.17M in inflows. Another sign that institutional interest in XRP is growing as traditional asset managers continue expanding their crypto offerings. I’m watching whether this demand starts translating into stronger XRP price action. https://t.co/adJVUGzoms

Bitcoin ETFs recorded another 2.86K BTC in net outflows yesterday. That follows the 5.67K BTC that left the funds the day before, bringing total outflows over the past two sessions to around 8.53K BTC. ETF demand has weakened alongside Bitcoin’s decline from the $87K area. We want to see flows turn positive again. If outflows continue while BTC remains weak, the risk of a move towards $79.5K increases.

Bitcoin ETFs saw another 2.86K BTC in net outflows yesterday. That follows the 5.67K BTC that left the funds the day before, bringing the two-day total to around 8.53K BTC. ETF demand has clearly weakened as Bitcoin has fallen from the $87K area. I’m watching whether flows start turning positive again. If outflows continue while BTC remains weak, it could make a move toward $79.5K more likely.
