OpenAI hires Uber executive Jill Hazelbaker as chief corporate affairs officer

Jill Hazelbaker is leaving Uber to join OpenAI as its chief corporate affairs officer, where she will oversee global communications and brand strategy.

OpenAI has hired Jill Hazelbaker, Uber's president and chief corporate affairs officer, to serve as its new chief corporate affairs officer, according to reports by Axios and The Information. The appointment comes after a long pursuit by the artificial intelligence company, according to The Information's Jessica Lessin and Jemima McEvoy.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

In the new role, Hazelbaker will report directly to Greg Brockman. She is set to oversee OpenAI's global communications and brand strategy, taking over a corporate affairs role that had remained vacant since the beginning of 2026.[3][5][6]

Hazelbaker, an industry veteran who previously worked at Google and Snap, will formally step down from Uber on November 30.[3]
