Blur to deprecate NFT marketplace frontend and halt Blend loan matching
Ethereum NFT marketplace Blur announced it will deprecate its blur.io website on Nov. 12, 2026, and halt new loan matching on its lending protocol Blend, sending the BLUR token tumbling more than 30%.

Blur announced in a thread on X that its blur.io website will be deprecated on Nov. 12, 2026, emphasizing that the shutdown applies solely to the frontend. The underlying Blur marketplace contracts will remain active on-chain, and the BLUR token will retain governance control over the protocol fee switch. Blur's peer-to-peer lending platform, Blend, will also stop matching new loans on Nov. 12, giving borrowers until that date to repay outstanding debt or allow their collateral to default.[1][5][4][8]
Blur plans to release a dedicated frontend tool following the deprecation to allow users to withdraw their assets from Blend. The winding-down of Blend has already prompted lenders to recall more than 1,000 ETH in loans, according to Coin Bureau, raising concerns over forced collateral sales in an already depressed market. The website retirement comes as Blur's monthly trading volume collapsed over 99% from its March 2023 peak of roughly $1.43 billion to under $7 million, and lands just ten days after sister project Blast, also created by founder Tieshun 'Pacman' Roquerre, announced its own shutdown.[1][3][7][9][10]
The announcement triggered a sharp market sell-off for BLUR. The token dropped over 30% following the news, touching a fresh all-time low below $0.012, according to data from CoinGecko and market updates from CryptoPatel.[1][2][4][9]

NFT Marketplace Blur Is Retiring Blur.io on Nov. 12, Keeping Its Contracts Live Onchain NFT marketplace Blur will stop running its blur.io website on Nov. 12, 2026 , the team said on X on Monday, Oct. 12. The change is limited to the web interface, according to the post. “The Blur marketplace protocol will remain operational on-chain, and $BLUR will continue to control its fee switch,” Blur wrote in the post. A fee switch is a governance setting that decides whether a protocol collects fees on the activity that runs through it. Blur’s three-post thread did not say whether that setting would change, and it gave no reason for retiring the site. The BLUR token traded near $0.0123 at 8:10 a.m. UTC on Tuesday, down about 34% over the previous 24 hours, a window that began before Blur’s post, according to CoinGecko data . Its market value stood at roughly $35.8 million . Get Unchained’s crypto news in your inbox with the free Unchained Daily newsletter . Blend Loans Wind Down on the Same Date The same deadline applies to Blend , Blur’s peer-to-peer NFT lending product. “Blend will stop matching new loans on November 12, 2026,” Blur wrote in the second post of its thread. “Borrowers have until then to repay their loans or allow them to default.” Once the deadline passes, Blur said, it will offer a frontend tool that lets users take their assets out of Blend. The post did not say when that tool would be available. In the third and final post of the thread, Blur warned users about impersonators and fraudulent announcements, adding, “The only official Blur account is @blur_io.” The Blast Wind-Down The Blur announcement arrived 10 days after Blast , the Ethereum layer-2 network that Blur founder Tieshun “Pacman” Roquerre created, said it was shutting down. Blast said on Oct. 2 that the ongoing costs of maintaining the chain “exceed the revenue generated by the L2.” Blast gave users until Oct. 26 to withdraw through its normal interface. After that date, Blast said, funds can still be withdrawn, but only by calling its Ethereum-side bridge contracts directly. For Blur, the same split now applies on a different timeline: the company’s own website goes away on Nov. 12, while, per its post, the marketplace contracts and the BLUR token’s control of the fee switch remain in place onchain. ethereum:0x5283d291dbcf85356a21ba090e6db59121208b44 Price Crashes 99% From ATH: Is Blur Officially a Dead Coin After the Shutdown News? #BLUR has crashed nearly 37% since the Blur shutdown announcement and printed a fresh all-time low of $0.011963 today. The token is now 99.14% below its February 2023 ATH of $1.3952, a collapse that took less than four years. To put it in simple numbers: a $10,000 investment at the top is now worth around $86. Here is the complete breakdown: what happened, why BLUR dumped so hard, why traders loved it in 2023, and the only level that can save it from the dead coin list. 🔰 What Happened: Blur Announces Its Frontend Shutdown On October 12, 2026, Blur confirmed in an official thread that it is closing its main platform: ➡️ The https://t.co/0qugGcfTtf frontend will be shut down on November 12, 2026 ➡️ Blend, Blur's NFT lending protocol, will stop matching new loans on the same date ➡️ Borrowers must repay their Blend loans before the deadline or allow them to default ➡️ After the deadline, Blur will offer a frontend tool only for withdrawing assets ➡️ The on-chain marketplace protocol stays live, and BLUR continues to control the fee switch The team framed it as "only the frontend," but the market read it very differently. 🔰 Why the BLUR Price Crashed So Hard in 24 Hours: 1️⃣ No frontend means almost no users. Most NFT traders use the website, not the smart contracts directly. Removing the interface removes the main source of activity. 2️⃣ Blend lending is being wound down. Blend was one of Blur's strongest products. Stopping new loans signals the team is winding down operations, not building. 3️⃣ NFT volume has collapsed. Blur's monthly trading volume fell from about $1.43 billion at its March 2023 peak to under $7 million by March 2026, a drop of more than 99.5%. 4️⃣ Token unlocks continue until February 2027. Even with the platform shutting down, new supply keeps entering the market, adding selling pressure. 5️⃣ The Blast shutdown shook confidence. The announcement came right after the shutdown news for Blast, the Layer 2 launched by the same founder, which hit trust in the wider ecosystem. 6️⃣ The team had gone silent. The Blur team posted only 4 tweets in all of 2025, and its first tweet of 2026 was the shutdown announcement. Nearly 10 months of silence followed by a closure notice is a major red flag for any investor. 🔰 Flashback to 2023: Why Everyone Loved BLUR During the 2023 FOMO phase, BLUR was one of the most hyped tokens in crypto. Here's why: ✅ The biggest airdrop of the year. BLUR launched on Valentine's Day 2023 with a massive airdrop, and many farmers received life-changing amounts. ✅ Paradigm backing. Support from one of crypto's most respected VCs gave the project instant credibility. ✅ It dethroned OpenSea. Zero trading fees, optional royalties, and professional trading tools helped Blur capture more than 80% of Ethereum NFT volume at its peak. ✅ The points and farming meta. Season 1 and Season 2 rewards turned every trader into a farmer, which drove huge volume. ✅ The NFT-Fi narrative. The launch of Blend lending made Blur the center of the NFT finance story. ✅ Exchange listings and Blast hype. Major listings such as Upbit's KRW pair, plus the Blast L2 launch, fuelled repeated pumps. It was the trending coin, and almost everyone was bullish. That is exactly the kind of setup where retail buys the top. 🔰 BLUR/USDT Technical Analysis (HTF Chart) The HTF chart showed four clear exit signals long before today's crash: 👉 Exit Signal 1: A double top formed near the Feb 2024 highs 👉 Exit Signal 2: Price was rejected from a bearish order block 👉 Exit Signal 3: A breakdown below key support in Jan 2025 👉 Exit Signal 4: A second breakdown confirmed the bearish continuation 👉 Today: A fresh new low, with the structure fully bearish and a series of lower highs and lower lows 🔰 BLUR Price Prediction: Key Levels to Watch Bullish flip level: $0.0228 ➡️ BLUR must break and hold above $0.0228 ➡️ It needs a confirmed HTF close above this level to signal any real reversal Bearish scenario: ➡️ As long as BLUR stays below $0.0228, there is no bullish reversal ➡️ With the frontend shutting down and unlocks continuing, BLUR is heading toward the dead coin list 🔰 Final CryptoPatel Verdict: Is BLUR a Dead Coin? A 99% drawdown, a shutdown announcement, collapsing volume, ongoing unlocks, and a silent team all point the same way. Until BLUR reclaims $0.0228 with an HTF close, the trend says this project is moving from NFT king to dead coin. 🔰 Lessons for CryptoPatel Investors 👉 Hype is not fundamentals 👉 Airdrop farming volume is not real demand 👉 A silent team is a warning sign, not a buying opportunity 👉 Never fall in love with any coin 👉 Always book profit when you're in good profit What happens to Blend loans? Borrowers have until November 12, 2026 to repay their loans or allow them to default. After that date, Blur will provide a withdrawal tool. Educational Only. Not Financial Advice. ALWAYS DYOR. @blur_io

🚨BREAKING: Blur, once Ethereum’s largest NFT marketplace, dumps more than -30% after announcing the shut down of its frontend on November 12. More than 1,000 ETH in loans have also been recalled as Blend, Blur’s NFT lending protocol, prepares to stop matching new loans on the same date.
