Apple tests always-listening AI features for Apple Watch in iOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3 betas

Apple has launched the first developer betas of iOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3, introducing new audio AI capabilities called Siri Recap and Live Rewind to compatible Apple Watch models ahead of an expected December release.

Apple has begun rolling out the first developer beta builds of iOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3, introducing always-listening smartwatch AI tools, a redesigned Health app, and testing for its Chinese AI platform, according to Bloomberg.[2][5][6][8]

The watchOS update includes two primary conversational audio tools, reported as part of an Audio Intelligence feature set by The Verge and detailed by MacRumors and 9to5Mac. Siri Recap summarizes conversations into bullet points, while Live Rewind provides a transcript of the last 15 seconds of audio captured through the watch microphone.[1][3][4][7]

According to Bloomberg as cited by StockMKTNewz, the audio features currently function in English only and are restricted to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. A full public release of both software updates is scheduled for December.[1]
