Apple has replaced the signature red Apple Music app icon with a monochrome design in the iOS 27.2 beta 4 software build, according to reports from tech outlets and social media trackers. Visual comparisons shared by MacRumors and Apple Hub show that the updated icon features a black musical note centered on a white background, departing from the red background and white note used in iOS 27.[1][3][4][5]

Beyond the home screen icon, the update carries additional visual modifications inside the application. Reports from 9to5Mac and Analytics Insight indicate that iOS 27.2 includes broader design refreshes for Apple Music, adding blue highlights and black widgets to the interface. Analytics Insight noted that these interface changes remain in beta ahead of an official public release.[2][5]

The aesthetic shift has already sparked online discussion. Engadget reported on the potential switch to a more basic black-and-white logo, noting that the simplified design has drawn criticism from some users.[4]
