Apple has revised its insider trading policy to explicitly bar employees from leveraging confidential workplace information to trade on prediction markets, according to an SEC filing reported by The Block. The updated restrictions prevent staff from using private business details to place bets on future events and from sharing sensitive information with other participants in online betting markets.[4][3]

The prohibition encompasses non-public information concerning Apple as well as its suppliers and business partners. Employees who violate the policy face disciplinary consequences, up to and including termination.[4]

The policy change, also highlighted by outlets including 9to5Mac and MacRumors, reflects growing scrutiny over the use of proprietary corporate information on prediction platforms.[1][2][3]
